I know Hola used to be a good place to go for this kind of thing, but I’m wondering whether there are any preferable options in terms of variety and/or price.

Just search 油漆 on Google Maps and there are loads of little local places. AFAICT they all sell the local Rainbow brand, which is what B&Q mostly stocks too. It’s fine.

Depends on the type of paint you want. B&Q tends to be on the more expensive side but they seem to offer discounts if you buy more than 1000nt or something on credit card, so it might even out. You can buy wall paint there. I try to avoid buying from B&Q because they tend to only carry more expensive brands, which makes them a lot more expensive to buy from. But if it’s a particular brand of something (say Rainbow wall paint), the paint store will probably sell for only slightly less, however if you get the 10% discount for 1000/5000nt purchase using a credit card, B&Q can actually come out cheaper (I bought some power tool this way, saved a LOT).
Otherwise do as Brendon suggests and look for paint stores. They will offer more/better stuff, even 2k clears if you are looking for durable clear coats for cars/such. Should be stated that the durability of 2k clears is unmatched… nothing else comes close.
