I am quitting my job at the end of the week, so my ARC will be cancelled. I plan to leave the country and come back on a 30 day tourist visa for a while to get my stuff organized before leaving. So do I have to sell my scooter this week to legally transfer registration, or can I do it after my ARC has expired, assuming I have my chop and other ID?
Well, I have a fully legal car in another foreigners name. He left me everything, all the paper work, his chop, and a copy of his expired ARC. My Taiwanese friend went down to the DMV and asked if it was possible to change everything into my name with all that info and the expired ARC. The lady said that it is possible. I haven’t tried it yet though. It seems to be hit or miss with the DMV.

basically you could just transfer it to a friend of yours a good one… it would be just as if you sell it to him except that there would be no other money but the transfer oneinvolved and then when you come back you still have your scooter and you can take ur time to sell it, at this time the one selling it would not be u but your friend
