Semi,Semi,Semi Pro Ice Hockey Leauge in Taiwan

This is the latest infor taken from the ice hockey website.

Things are being firmed up but after an initial meeting with them
yesterday this is the direction we are taking.

The League is for Over 18’s. However as you all know there are some
players under 18 who are very competitive in the adult level. These
guys should be given the chance to play with us. There will be a
time set up before the league kicks off for any U18 players that
wish to be allowed to play. The coach and or Captain/Assistants of
each team must be present to agree on exceptions to the rule.

There will be 6 teams. They will be based on the exsisting Inline
Hockey Clubs. As we all know there are some very good local players
and some average foreigners. In the hope of making things as even as
possible I suggested they draft all players, Chinese and Foreigners
however, they want to maintain the integrity of the original inline
clubs and the exsisting rivalries and relationships between players.
So I further suggested as follows. Any foreigners who have known
historic ties to an inline club and wish to play for them should
have the right to play for that club - provided it doesn’t push them
over the top of every team in the league (post draft of course).
A time is allotted for all registered foreigners to get on the ice.
Association Officials or Team Coaches will determine which
foreigners are “elite” level.
The Six Teams then draft the balance of the foreigners registered
and play a round robin series.
Afterwards when the results are in team coaches/C/A’s or Officals
from the Association will determine the numbers of elite players to
be draftyed to which teams.

Guys who want to play together on the same team should make this
known, if numbers fit we can try to make it happen. As long as it’s
in twos or threes it may be possible.

Rules will be those of the IIHF.

Are there any Officials out there interested in working the games
(you will be paid).

I don’t yet have a start date. They need to know players are
committed before they can put everything in motion. As of right now
we have 6 guys committed. Please vote in the POLL if you want to
play.

The Inline game is only for the Chinese players and more about
promoting Inline than having anything to do with ice. For you, all
games on Ice (so don’t worry!). I will let you know when the next
meeting is. Yes it’s in Chinese. Sometimes I only get half an hour
notice.

Mark, I will ask if you get to keep your jersey.

Ski, Probably a dozen players per team.

Yes Sam, it is a semi Pro League. You may even get drafted I hear
the NHL are sending scouts.
