Sending money to home country

Hi,

Any Canadians have an experience being taxed in Canada on your Taiwanese earnings when returning home?

Thanks,

I’m not Canadian, but I would assume the only part you’d be taxed on would be if you earned interest on it from your Canadian bank account.

I think no limits, but you need to have a good explanation when it’s a huge amount, where the money comes from when you’re asked by the tax office …
Any amount over 400,000 NT$ need to be registered (10,000 US$) I believe.

Has something to do with fighting money laundry practices worldwide, some countries have a lower amount set.

And I don’t think you need to pay taxes in Taiwan on your Canadian account.

Western Union has limits for sending money, Taiwan Bank (Bank of Taiwan?) doesn’t for transfers to bank accounts worldwide and only costs 400NT$ per transaction …

What’s the exchange rate like at Bank of Taiwan for foreign currency?
