So, apparently, any branded scooter fixing shops (Honda, Sym, etc.) offer this service as they work with companies that ship scooters around Taiwan. They gave me a booklet and I can choose the address to ship my scooter to that is convenient for me to pick up.
FYI, Pricing from HengChun Town to Taipei YongHe District is about NT$1,700 plus a scooter fee (depending on your scooter type). Mine is Gogoro, so I have to pay an extra NT$200-300 more. And if you want to wrap your scooter for protection, it’s an additional NT$300. Although with the wrapping cost, they won’t take any responsibility if the external of your scooter is damaged (which I found annoying).
These are the 2 companies that offer scooter shipping, I have attached photos of their booklet below for future fellows who need this. You might be able to reach out directly to them.
They mentioned shipping a Gogoro is the most mafan type. I’m a bit worried
but I have no other choice, so let’s see.
Hope this helps with future shipping scooter inquiries! ![]()
Pretty convenient right? From anywhere to anywhere. Usually many days a week delivery.
Just don’t be that person that didn’t give them the key and then locks the steering ![]()
Gogoro ships fine, like any brand. They are just bullshitting you cause the people that buy the brand have have a reputation. Everyone knows it, like say a tesla, so they get city person prices. Deserved or not. It’s a thing I have noticed. A 30 year old kymco without mirrors is probably under 1500 ![]()
They line them up on flat beds, or double deckers, so rubbing may occur. If lined with cardboard it’s pretty safe assuming no accidents.
On the flip side, if time allows. One of the prettiest things to do in Taiwan is to drive from Hen chuan to taipei via east coast on a scooter. One of my favorite things in the world to do. Literally no better way to see this country, truly gorgeous !
have no other choice,
A two days trip through the East coast sounds like an option to me. A rather good one too.
