I need to have a box weighing 19kg with a volume of 0,11m
To LUX I don’t know but we always go to the postoffice and mail by “haiyun” (by boat) to Holland and it takes about 2 till 3 months.
Yep, surface mail (i.e. by ship) takes around 45 days +/-
Don’t mind me. I’ve nothing to add to this thread.
But, your name reminded me of this:

Cheers!
Thanks, Hamster and Rascal. (Tigerman, you only think of one thing
)
CargoLux, the cargo division of LuxAir, flies LUX>TPE>LUX and I once heard that they also offer forwarding services, might be worth to check out. Slightly off topic: they also used to sell tickets for their cargo Boing 747s, a few seats only per flight, apparently fairly cheap and quite luxurious as the only passenger seats available were those in the “dome” which usually houses 1st class, no idea whether they still do that though … Xpet.
Hi Xpet,
yes, I frequently use CargoLux for shipments >100kg, but I doubt they’d bother giving me a rate for a 19kg box
. Actually, the goods in question should be transported by sea, since they are rather heavy and not very valuable. But then again, if I ask a forwarder about a 19kg box he’ll certainly ROTFL. Furthermore, I don’t have any regular sea freight shipments from Taiwan (only from China), so I can’t combine this stupid box with something else. So I was thinking about regular surface mail, but while 45 days might be Ok, 3 months is too long. Wah, what a lot of trouble, if this wasn’t an important customer I’d tell him to place a larger order or none at all.
As for passenger seats, AFAIK you can’t fly with them anymore if you’re not an employee (or a family member of an employee). But for air freight, they’re definitely a great company.
Assuming you’re not engaging in any illegal activity, you could ask somebody to “handcarry” the stuff, maybe a forumosan will be travelling to LUX or somewhere nearby in the near future and could take it as part of his/her luggage? You could offer your surface-freight cost as a service fee and would have the stuff over there much quicker!?
BAX quoted me US$60 from Seattle to CKS for 40lbs. (I assume since it ended at the airport, it would be by air freight.) The operator mentioned that it might be cheaper if I had an account with them; not sure if that would be a volume discount or what.
I don’t have a clue of what their rates to Europe would be, or even if they do that, but you might check their website or give them a call.

Thanks, MaPoDurian, I’ll contact them tomorrow, the website looks promising.
XPet, I don’t think there’s so many Forumosans [sp?] flying to Luxemburg. But maybe I can convince Tigerman to visit the place (click here
).
