Should I go West or East?

Coming to TW in November. Starting in Taipei and wondering…should I go west from there to Taichung and Tainan. Or East to Hualien and Taitung (Taidung?)

My purspose of the trip is pleasure, relaxation, experience the culture, get a feel for what it is like to live in TW and of course…meet beautiful women.
get a feel for what it is like to live in TW
This is going to be difficult because there are at least three very different possible experiences you could having living in Taiwan. The East Coast is fairly unpopulated. The West Coast is heavily populated and sometimes difficult to tell where a town starts and stops. Although on the west Maoli and Puli are exceptions to the rule. Taipei has a lot of amenities for westerners.

How long are you coming over for?

Taichung from Taipei isn’t west … it’s south, but anyways it’s an island and you’ll return to place you left if you go around, either east first or south and than east …

You also said relax … there are few places to ‘relax’ in Taiwan, traffic and public transport are neither … but in the mountains and some coastal areas would be good tho …
