Should we keep the Legal forums separated?

Do you think we should keep the Legal forums in their own section?

Gus, I voted “yes” but I think their needs to be a more prominent link to the legal forums on the main forums page.

No - nobody knows where they are … well not true, but a lot of people don’t. I already seen countless legal topic questions in the Open forum and living in Taiwan threads since the legals were moved. Plus, because they’ve been moved, there is rarely any legal topics active.

Once you click on the legal link on the front page, it changes colour so that you can no longer tell it apart from the background.

I miss the Legal Forums up there. I think it would be better to have a ‘Legal Forum’ link with the others and then be able to choose what subforum to go into.

I don’t get it – there have been not one, but TWO links to the Legal forums at the top of EVERY page since the day the legal forums were moved. TWO links.

  1. Just below the picture of the island
  2. Right at the top edge of the Index forum table

And these links use the SAME formatting codes as the other links they are next to – so I’m absolutely baffled why some of us (hex) report that the “visited” color makes the legal link disappear. The other links must have the same problem, right?

Here are my specs: please post yours if they differ

Browsers: IE 5, IE 6 and Opera 7
O/S: Windows98, WindowsNT
Connectivity: Dialup, Broadband and from Internet Cafes (broadband)

I voted no because I favour simplicity, and I think having them separate confuses newcomers and some other members such as myself.

I agree here. Include it in the list of other discussion forums and people will be sure to click through to it. The problem is not so much that there isn’t a link–you can still find it if you want to, but that the link is not prominent compared to the other discussion forums.

I don’t have the problem with the link changing color so you can’t see it.

Yep. Legals and Forums links just under the island disappear after I click on them.
