I have indeed climbed balaka and on to lengshuikung a couple of times on the same 42-17 ratio on 700c wheels on my Colnago (there’s an old thread here with that bike). Really good power training, at the expense of one’s knees.

I probably would struggle now, 15 years later… but I can still get up 100m elevations without dying.

FIFY , you forgot a zero.

Nooo, nothing like that on my daily commute. 100 m is enough!

but thanks for the encouragement.

That frame is so GT. and that fork is so 90’s

I remember when bombers were… the bomb. At least for DH…?

the correct number is n+1, Limit s-1,

where n = number you have now, and s is the spouse divorce point.

This I like.

1999-2019 … Hit the 20 years with this bike.

Supacaz Star Fade can do no wrong. One of my favorite tapes of all time.

That bike from Nanjing Giant is awesome. What’s the rental rate?

1500/day for the first 3, then 1000 for each additional. I’m guessing it is a bit steep, but they were the only shop to reply to my 6 email or FB requests for a carbon road bike rental.

I’m loving it. Full Ultegra with Giant’s carbon rims and bar. Eventually I’ll get around to weighing it. I think it will be -1.5lb than my Felt VR3 at home.

My son is racing this 90s Kona Cinder Cone with a bomber, that my friend has kept up since he was in HS.

Oh, and my dream bike

That Pinarello is cool AF :+1:

Isn’t it though. Way cooler than my last few bikes let alone my first road bike. I am a bit cheap though, so I found it used. It was $100 more than the Fuji that was on the market in Madison at the same time.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

I know the idea is to ride up grades not buy upgrades, but in my defense, these wheels are much heavier than the ones that came with the bike.

Note to self, never buy tubeless tires and try to install them on clincher wheels.
