Singapore to Malaysia

Have a question for people who been there before.

Thinking about doing a trip from Taiwan, flying to Singapore. However after 2/3 days there, would like go north to Malaysia, as I am looking at the map. Is there a way to get there by bus? If so, is it easy, any tips would be appreciated.

Yes, you can easily go to Malaysia from Singapore by bus. Don’t know the details, but it’s a very common, comfortable, quick and cost-effective way of getting from place to place on the Malay Peninsula.

You can get a bus in Singapore to almost anywhere excluding an island in Malaysia, and then that’s possible too. far more interesting to get a bus or taxi to the border town of Johor Bahru and rent a car. The east coast is a lovely drive.

I have heard that the border crossing into Malaysia has become very slow. Something to with the Malaysians taking compulsory finger prints of foreigners.

The US comes up with a bad idea, and everyone else has to follow it…

I used this site http://www.journeymalaysia.com/ptasingmelaka.htm to go from Singapore to Melaka. I think it was SG$18 with a discount for going on a Monday morning. This site is really good for finding out bus schedules around peninsular Malaysia.

There are plenty of bus companies located at Golden Mile Tower at Beach Road in Singapore. They have plenty of routes from Singapore to Malaysia. It really depends on your destination. I’ve taken the bus from Singapore to Malaysia’s KL for about SGD$60ish for a comfortable “premium seating” ride. The nearest train station (MRT) is Lavender MRT Station but you need to walk a distance to Golden Mile Tower. It helps to book your tickets early but they have such regular schedules that if you’re traveling alone or as a couple, you can just buy tickets for the next bus.

Thanks for all the information, will go there in two months, so if anyone else has anything to add on what to visit/see in those two countries would be great.
