Skateboards / Longboards / skateboard decks, parts

Hi guys,

I’m looking for 2 skateboards (Longboards actually), but I live in Yilan and I have never seen a skateboard shop in this area. I don’t mind going to Taipei to have a look. Any advise?

Thanks
Pix

From what I gather, skateboarding is pretty damn popular in Taiwan…but that’s like street-skating…you’ll probably have a tough time finding long-boards. I’m not too positive on where to buy skateboarding shit…I brought mine with me from America. I’d say your best bet is Ximen ding in Taipei. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, you can take the MRT blue-line and get off at the Ximen station.

The only board shop I’ve seen is here in Taipei, first lane North of Jen-Ai, just off the corner of Kuang-Fu S. Rd. From the corner of Ren-Ai and Kuang-Fu, cut through the parking lot to get to the first lane that runs East/West. The shop’s about 10 meters in, but tiny. You should spot it; they’ve got all kinds of boards and skater shirts in the window. Don’t know about longboards, but if anyone could find one for you, it would probably be them. If I’m around there this weekend, I’ll try to get the exact address and maybe a telephone number for you. Might be worth a look next time you’re in Taipei.

Good luck,
CK

You’re a star…

Tienmou as well…

Across from the Hollywood fitness center is a small alley that has a skateboard shop. I saw a longboard in there last time I peeked. But they only have the super hard durometer wheels that aren’t really that great for cruising…

I think they wanted a fair amount…Over 4,000NT

I don’t have the address but It’s off of Chungshan North Rd Section six, about 150 meters past the American School on your left. You can see the sign for the skateboarding shop from the street.

Here’s the info on that shop I mentioned:

Jimi Dome
Kuangfu South Rd.
Lane 346, No.25
Taipei

They had a couple longboards that I could see through the window, don’t know about price.

Have fun,
CK

i went by jimi’s globe (kuang fu) and they do have longboards…

there are a bunch of sites for jimi in their promo material but they don’t seem to work. I’ll post them anyway:

good luck and happy boarding.

Hey guys,
I got my new board on Saturday and I’m as excited as a kid!
Thanks for all your help.

Are there any places that carry decent decks and hardware? Not too picky but I am in the planning stages for coming over and need to figure out what I would need to bring with me. For decks I don’t care as long as it holds up, but for trucks I am have used royal for a long time exclusively. Any city is fine since I plan on checking a lot of places out and am willing to travel for stuff.

You had better bring everything, esp. longboard decks and HW.

Good to know ahead of time. Do you know the laws on skating on public property most places?

Hey there
theres two or three in Tapei and one in Taichung, you will be able to get anything you want to replace, but maybe not top Usa branded stock.i get all the bmx parts i want here

Hello,
I am moving to Taiwan pretty soon (I am living in Australia atm). I am wondering if I can easily get a cruiser over there for an OK price (around hoe much?) or if it will be better to get one here?
Cheers!

Hey guys,

If you are looking for cruiser longboards, downhill longboards, freeride longboards or freestyle longboards you can come to our shop: Tiger Surf Shop.
We carry a variety of longboards from different brands like Arbor Collective, Landyachtz Longboards, Longboard Larry and DB Longboards.

If you are looking for a cruiser board we also carry Penny Skateboards here in Taiwan.

Hope we can all skate soon in the future.

You can check out the website at www.tigersurfshop.com
Or add us on FB: zh-tw.facebook.com/TigerSurfShop

Have a good one guys!

Cheers,
Kevin Chen

There is a skateboard store in Neihu IT park close (almost across) to Paul Pastry store, they had a sale yesterday, 50% off … long que outside. Don’t know if it was a closing sale or end of season sale tho. Just walked by and saw it. One guy a I spotted on the street had a huge skateboard under his arms.

that Neihu shop is named ‘All Ride - Skate / Surf / Snow’… also owned by Jimi skateshop owner.
they carry boards of the mentioned categories.
