Skype pc to phone

Are pc to telephone call possible with skype and how would it work?

very possible, in fact so possible I do it every few days.

Go to www.skype.com and read about “skype out”. It’s brilliant.

Just can agree with Truant and it is, at least to the normal telephones in the more common areas of the world, also very cheap. It also works to cell phones but it is much more expensive and I am not sure if all companies are supported. Just check their table with the rates on www.skype.com

Yep, awesome, i use it every week. Works great, for PC or Mac.

If you check out the rates, it can actually work out cheaper to phone a Taiwanese mobile phone from Skype (via Skype out) than via your normal land-line. Strange but true …

Oh, and you can also do telephone to PC calls via Skype In if you so wish too :bravo:

Thanks a million! A friend of mine told me that one could pay for skype calls at 7-11. Before I go I’d like to know if it’s still true because asking for something that doesn’t exist, in Chinese is a little too much.

You add to your account by credit card

The forms are quite likely right near those glasses that take out the fuzzy bits and allow you to see full-on Taiwan cable porn.

This product looks promising: http://www.popwuping.com/stuff/travel/netgear_skype_wifi_phone.php

Also a Canadian company has created software to allow you to put skype on your mobile: http://www.eqo.com/

What I want to know is… how do I call one of those IP phone thingies from my PC without having to buy an IP phone?

I don’t know how it works, or if it’s done directly with Skype or another company (there is another company’s name on the poster). But you want to ask at Family Mart, not 7-11.

You can also purchase your Skype credits by going via www.groupdonate.com and donate 7.5% of the sale value to either Forumosa or AnimalsTaiwan in the process.

If I buy one of those USB phones will the quality of my speakers influence the quality of the sound of the reception? My built-in speakers are out of order.

Do you know how much those phones were going for?

I think my USB phone cost me about NTD399 in Pateh rd.

The phone I saw advertised at Family Mart was something like NT850 or 899.

There was a url: skype.pchome.com.tw

What I want to know is how to do I sign up for the service? I’ve got ADSL with Chung Hwa Telecom, so is PCHome part of Chung Hwa? Or would I be signing up for another service?

From what I know, it doesn’t matter what the other person is using to receive your call (phone or pc); just call the way you normally would.
