Anyone reached the point in one of the Skyrim storylines where you can choose to be a werewolf? Just wondering if anyone has chosen to be one, and how that affects the game.

I haven’t tried it yet, but probably will.
Hmm, not sure if that’s what I want for my magic using elf.
It could be fun to try. Also, it can be easily cured if you don’t like it.
I set out early on to do only the Companions quests because I had read somewhere that it leads to becoming a werewolf. Plus, if you are bit by a vampire, everyone hates you. And a cure for that is turning into a werewolf. So, I thought I should just skip the vampire bite and get right to the lycanthropy.
So far there haven’t been any negative side effects. I find that the werewolf form is easily killed and is weaker than my blades, though. But I sure can run fast as a wolfman!
I’m thinking vampirism might be more appropriate for my character.
It has a lot of disadvantages though.
Well if you feed on people then you can stay at stage 1 vampirism. That way you can still interact with NPC’s. Otherwise, if you don’t feed, you become more powerful and people hate or try to kill you on sight.
