SLR and Video?

Either one of the 3 would work. I’d say go find a store that has all three, pick each one up and see how it feels to hold in your hands and how comfortable the controls are to you. But be aware that Pentax has a very limited selection of lenses right now when compared to Canon and Nikon, especially in the long focal lengths.

As for the high ISO picture quality, it’s a compromise between graininess and detail and each manufacturer has a different approach. Here’s a sample between D40 and K100D on DPReview.

Picked out the camera last night, and got the Pentax k100d.

Could have picked up a Nikon d40, body only for NT14,000, or a lesser kit for NT19,odd, but went with the Pentax because of the built in image stabilization and it just felt right in my hand. For NT23,000 I got the kit, decent warranty and a 4 gig rather than 2 gig memory card. The shutter is surprisingly loud, but other than that, I’m liking it.

Thanks for all the advice.

Now I have to learn how to properly compose a shot.
