Yes, real Slurpees at 7-11!
At least they are in Sinjuang. I was walking by there today and saw Slurpee cups stacked in the window. I stuck my head in the door and saw the machine at the back. I was in a rush so I didn’t go in. I can only hope the other 7-11’s start to stock them again. I would actually drive an hour over there, just for Slurpee runs.
They’ve got them in some 7-11 in Yung Ho too. In fact, they have never been gone. They’re not nice, though, mostly cola or mango flavor.
Do you know what road they’re on in Younghe? This was the first time I’ve seen them in my 3 years here, and I was greatly happy. Younghe is alot closer to me than sinjuang.
The one I definitely know has them now is at a 7-11 near the corner of Chuling Road and Fu He Road (Fu He is the one that comes off the Yung Fu bridge.) There is a Hang Ten on the corner, and the 7-11 is a couple of stores down from the Hang Ten in Chuling Road. There is a bus stop almost right in front of the 7-11, as well as the first pedestrian crossing you find in Juling as you turn from Fu He (I think).
Rumours are that the other 7-11 in Chuling (closer to Zhong Shin Street) that used to have them too doesn’t have them anymore.
P.S. I don’t know real romanization. This is good as it gets.

Were you traveling on Chung Gang Road perhaps? That is the only 7-11 I know of that has Slurpees. Fortunately for me it is my neighborhood 7-11 (or at least, one of them). The mango flavor is quite nice, but they can never seem to get the Coke flavor right.
I’m not really sure what road it was. I’ll investigate further tomorrow, I’ll be back there again.
Twonavals, thanks for the lead in Younghe!
Josefus, hunny…you get excited over Slurpee! Tell you what, I’ma go back soon, I be’s takin photos of me drinking slurpee of every flavor and post 'em for ya’s.
Mmm…brain freeze…mmm
914 AND Slurpee in the same picture? Aaaaand, I’m spent.
I thought the things were everywhere…There are three 7/11’s in my hick town that have them…I had one today.
Maybe Yangmei isn’t so backwards after all…
Here you go…I don’t lie. You’ll have to pay for one of me sucking though.

What’s it made form? Coloring, flavoring, water, sugar … sounds great :s
Yeah man, all four food groups.
Thanks for those 914
The sucking ones can go straight to my PM box.
I’ve been raiding the 7/11 in Younghe alot lately for Slurpees, but they only have Mango and Coke for perma-flavors. Still wonderful.
Well, I’m not an idiot, but I’ll be the first to admit that I’m one of the last ones to notice new things and trends.
I first noticed that Slurpees were in Taiwan earlier this year, when the mobs of junior-high-aged kids were loading up on their sugar fixes. Because of the crowd, I didn’t buy one. But Slurpees are just one of those things that I have on my ‘must do’ lists whenever I go to the US.
Today, on a seemingly 40C day, I walked through a 7-Eleven and noticed mango flavor. So I bought one.
Heaven
on
earth.
And then I find out that there have been mango Slurpees in Taiwan for over 2 years???
Ok, maybe I am an idiot.
This would look spiffing right next to my liquid bowel chutney.

But you forgot to fortify the slurpee with the secret fifth ingredient.
Vitamin V
aka vodka.
beer slurpees. make your own in an ice-cream churn.
with added shot of scotch (just a cheap one, no need for the single malts)
PS, don’t add too much scotch or the damn thing will never freeze.
Isn’t that what used to go into your pies?
Chris told me.
They never went away in the south. The 7-11 about 5 blocks from my house has been serving them for years.
You forgot 1 thing, the $$$ maker : AIR !
I am doing an investigation as I have reason to believe that some machines are set “otherwise”.
Tested around 10 shops now in different locations and noticd that some devices put tremendously much AIR in the cuf.
Am I now accusing Slurpee from fraude?
