due to demands I had lately, I’m planning to start up a small IT consultancy business offering services to the multitude in Taipei.
I don’t know if this is a solid business idea, therefore I would appreciate opinions from others. This consultancy business shall offer services ranging from:
Trojan/ Spyware/ Virus removal.
PC recovery, backup, reformat, and reinstallation
Small Business Network setup (Webserver, Email server)
Internet Security Implementation and consultancy
I can do this on weekends or at night first. If this turn out promising. I’ll give it a full time thought.
Main focus should be small businesses to medium sized businesses. However, when you start off you should look at individuals and build your business through them. Big money should be with businesses but the stable money is with individuals.
Maybe offer something else that is different too as a way of differentiating yourself from others.
I was thinking of training on how to use the net to learn chinese. Introduction to using Chinese or Japanese IME, how to work around with Chinese OS. Or how to get an English OS to read and write Chinese. I know there’s a lot of expert there, but there’s always a newcomer there that is at a loss with all these.
How about selling cards that show the English windows equivalent snapshot so the customers can reference what they are in English when they operate the Traditional chinese operating system. This way, they see the characters and can learn what the chinese characters mean when they compare it to the English one. They are thinking in English anyways so they can retain the meaning more.
