So is the Iran deal another Munich?

Thanks for bringing that up, Mike. This guy in Washington just keeps looking worse and worse.

Of course it’s another Munich but appeasing Benjamin won’t work any more than appeasing Adolf did. Some Operation Canned Goods ploy will sabotage the current agreement and the Israeli Luftwaffe will take to the skies and turn Iran and much of the rest of the Middle East into an irradiated wasteland when operational nuclear facilities are bombed, excluding presumably the Iranian nuclear power plant at Bushehr as bombing it would be complete insanity on the scale of Chernobyl. If it isn’t bombed though, kicking the Russians and all IAEA inspectors out and turning its spent fuel into weapons grade plutonium would be a relatively straightforward process so it’s hard to see what Operation Fool Me Twice would actually accomplish other than killing tens of thousands of civilians again, potentially igniting a confrontation between major powers once oil supplies began dwindling precipitously and teaching the Iranians that they need nuclear weapons in order to have any hope of defending themselves, The people in charge have undoubtedly thought all this through in detail though so we’ve got little to worry about.

So… um… that’s the best case scenario?

Not helping my insomnia any here.

As usual Winston just sits on the fence. Still waiting for answers to my other post, where you seem to have run off with your tail tucked firmly beneath you legs.

He also fails to mention that nuclear holocaust sounds like a great idea to some. The last Iranian president was convinced it would hasten the coming of the hidden imam, and losing a third of Iran was acceptable.

Lets not forget the whole"Israel is a cancerous tumor, that must be wiped off the map" rhetoric?
Winston does not seem to mind this type of talk.

The Iranians pulled a fast one, and as usual the West fell for it. The P2’s must be in overdrive.

Why else buy the blueprints of the Pak bomb from that rogue Khan (along with the P2’s) if not looking to build a bomb?

As i said Winston. Do some reading.

It’s inspiring watching all these U.S. politicians moonlighting for Israel but the fact that North Korea is progessing all but ignored on its way to making good on its repeated threats to wipe New York City and Washington DC off the face of the earth proves it’s not actually possible to serve two masters.
The commander of U.S. military forces in the Pacific said this week that North Korea’s KN-08 missile — a new road-mobile, intercontinental-range weapon — is a serious threat with the potential to hit the United States with a nuclear warhead.

"The comments by Navy Adm. Samuel Locklear to foreign reporters on Tuesday were made as a report provided new details on the six KN-08 missiles — initially thought in 2012 to be mock-ups — that now appear to be hard-to-locate and easy-to-fire mobile intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).

“From a military planning perspective, when I see KN-08 road-mobile missiles that appear in a North Korean military parade, I am bound to take that serious, both for not only the peninsula, but also the region, as well as my own homeland, should we speculate that those missiles potentially have the technology to reach out,” Adm. Locklear said.

The regime in Pyongyang has conducted three underground nuclear tests and several long-range missile tests. But U.S. intelligence has not confirmed that North Korea is able to miniaturize a nuclear device that can be fired atop long-range missiles. North Korea is believed to have small warhead designs that were purchased in the mid-2000s through the covert Pakistani nuclear suppliers group headed by A.Q. Khan.

The North Koreans differ from the Iranian regime in a fundamental way. The are not religious extremists looking to hasten the end of the world as prescribed in their little black book.

When the North Koreans rattle the saber they usually have a logical reason, such as more food aid etc.

And again you fail to address Iran by deflecting. You are actually a waste of time discussing anything with, as you never argue a point. When it gets too warm you deflect or disappear.

However, it is fun watching your cred drop a notch everytime you post.

The religious right in the U.S., which provides the indispensable bedrock support for U.S. policy in the Middle East, is likewise comprised of “religious extremists looking to hasten the end of the world as prescribed in their little black book” but in typical neocon fashion they don’t expect to be around to pay the price for their actions when the end comes.
John Hagee explains how and why the world will end in 2012

The sermon begins with the rhetorical question:

Could 2012 be the end of the world as we know it?

The rest of the sermon provides Hagee’s answer.

But before getting in to that, Pastor Hagee tells us what “God’s point of view” is with respect to homosexuals. (God wants us to kill them.)

And that he’s “thrilled out of his ever-loving mind” that he’ll soon be raptured before the Antichrist shows up.

I gladly tell you that I am a born again, Bible-believing Christian and I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And I am thrilled out of my ever-loving mind that when the trumpet of God sounds, I’m out of here before the Antichrist shows up with hell incorporated.

With that out of the way, he begins to fly through the book of Revelation, telling us about the monstrous ecological things that God will do to our planet in the coming months.

I’m going to fly through the chapters of the book of Revelation like a speeding bullet. In the Book of Revelation there are seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven vials. Twenty-one monstrous ecological things that happen to literally devastate the planet Earth.

The San Antonio B’nai B’rith Council awarded Hagee with its “Humanitarian of the Year” award. It was the first time this award was given to a non-Jew. Hagee was presented the Zionist Organization of America’s Israel Award by U.N. Ambassador Jeane Kirkpatrick. This award was given by the Jewish Community of Dallas, Texas. He was presented the ZOA Service Award by Texas Governor Mark White. Houston Mayor Kathryn J. Whitmire issued a special proclamation in his honor, declaring Pastor John C. Hagee Day.

Hagee has been to Israel more than two dozen times and has met with every Prime Minister of Israel since Menachem Begin. John Hagee Ministries has given several million dollars to bring Soviet Jews from the former Soviet Union to Israel, as well as millions to support Jewish orphanages and other worthy causes for the Jewish people in Israel and around the globe. Hagee is the Founder and Executive Director of “A Night to Honor Israel”, an event that expresses solidarity between Christians and Jews on behalf of Jerusalem, the State of Israel, and the United States.

On February 7, 2006, Hagee and 400 leaders from the Christian and Jewish communities formed a new national organization called Christians United for Israel (CUFI). This organization addresses members of the United States Congress, professing a Biblical justification for the defense of Israel.

Hagee was the primary early funding source for the Israeli Zionist group Im Tirtzu, which has pressured Israeli academics it accuses of being anti-Zionist and lobbied to have their funding cut for their political views.
This is fitst rate parody. Keep it up guys.

Yeah, got bored with healthcare, so just doing my bit to poke a stick through the cage bars.

I must have missed the part where it says that the religious right have threatened on more than one occasion to wipe another country off the face of the earth, or called it a tumour that must be removed. Perhaps you can point this out to me Winston?

And let’s also not forget that if Iran gets the bomb, the Saudis will develop one too. In fact I would not be surprised if those Sunnies in Saudi were the first target. In fact they are so worried, they have allowed the Israelis free access to their air space, should they decide it is necessary to strike as well as search and rescue.
Let’s not forget Egypt, who might also feel threatened.

I also believe Russia has refused to sell Iran the latest SAM systems, knowing full well the Israelis have the ability to circumvent the current Russian supplied system. This also speaks volumes.

Your problem Winston, is not only can you not think for yourself, but are unable to see the larger picture. Your anti Israel rhetoric has blinded you.

Until the nuclear club makes steps to get rid of all their weapons, it’s never going to be possible to stop other nations from wanting bombs of their own. Especially since a lot of these smaller nations have been taken advantage of and played like puppets for decades by the US, Britain, Russia, and China. Not to mention the fact that things actually do get pretty cloudy since nuclear energy is desirable and should be promoted. These countries pursuing nuclear ambitions are always going to be able to hide behind the, oh we just want to develop clean energy trick. Iran just wants to sit at the adult table. And maybe the west should have thought of the consequences of meddling in their affairs for all these decades. It’s a real mess now in 2013, and no decision, no treaty, no negotiations will ever be without consequences.

It’s the easiest thing in the world to point a finger and say that’s wrong. It’s a lot harder to come up with real viable solutions. Does anybody here actually have any better ideas? Some actual workable solutions?

There is quite a big difference between being “anti Israel” and recognizing that Israel is central to many of the problems in the Middle East, whether directly or indirectly.

Care to list the problems that Israel is central to?

Actually if you think about it Iran is the main destabilising force in the middle east.

And this topic is simply about Iran getting a nuclear bomb. The evidence supports this, he you care to investigate.

I don’t think a particularly nutty country would cease desiring a nuke just because no other nation has a nuke.

What’s bizarre is that the same baseless crazy talk used by the same scoundrels to foment Operation Fool Me Once ten years ago is being resurrected to foment Operation Fool Me Twice now and otherwise rational, intelligent folks are giving it credence as if OFMO never happened. That’s despite the fact that if U.S. intelligence agencies are to be believed there’s even less “evidence” to support OFMT than there was OFMO. The only conclusion one can draw is that you can fool some of the people all of the time.

Er, that little 9/11 thing?

Er, that little 9/11 thing?
Now that is a stupid answer.

The main reason was actually that bin laden wanted American troops out of Muslim lands as in his 98 fatwa. Also mentioned was kashmir if I remember correcly. There were a few other reasons. Israel was mentioned. Which self respecting Islamic terrorist would not mention the jews?
You can’t use Israel as the scapegoat for everything.

Winston, if you grow a pair, answer the questions I put forward to you in a similar topic. You simply ran away. You really do not have any credibility.
It is a fact that IAEA inspectors found evidence of uranium enriched to weapons grade, which is in the 90’s as opposed to the 5 percent enrichment needed for nuclear power.

Go answer the questions or shut up. All you do is spew the same drivel again and again. I think you have posted the same fool me once mail 108 times.

Some interesting reading for the uninformed on this forum. Israel seems far down the list. It seems Russia and India are far more responsible for the attacks than Israel. Ignorance must surely be bliss for some of the posters on this forum.

Osama bin Laden’s declaration of a holy war against the United States, and a 1998 fatwā signed by bin Laden and others, calling for the killing of American civilians,[94] are seen by investigators as evidence of his motivation.[124] In bin Laden’s November 2002 “Letter to America”, he explicitly stated that al-Qaeda’s motives for their attacks include

Support for the “attacks against Muslims” in Somalia
Support of Russian “atrocities against Muslims” in Chechnya
Support of Indian “oppression against Muslims” in Kashmir
The presence of U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia[125][126]
U.S. support of Israel[127][128]
The sanctions against Iraq[129]
After the attacks, bin Laden and al-Zawahiri released additional video tapes and audio tapes, some of which repeated those reasons for the attacks. Two particularly important publications were bin Laden’s 2002 “Letter to America”,[130] and a 2004 video tape by bin Laden.[131]

Bin Laden interpreted the Prophet Muhammad as having banned the “permanent presence of infidels in Arabia”.[132] In 1996, bin Laden issued a fatwā calling for American troops to leave Saudi Arabia. In 1998, al-Qaeda wrote, “for over seven years the United States has been occupying the lands of Islam in the holiest of places, the Arabian Peninsula, plundering its riches, dictating to its rulers, humiliating its people, terrorizing its neighbors, and turning its bases in the Peninsula into a spearhead through which to fight the neighboring Muslim peoples.”[133]

In a December 1999 interview, bin Laden said he felt that Americans were “too near to Mecca”, and considered this a provocation to the entire Muslim world.[134] One analysis of suicide terrorism suggested that without U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia, al-Qaeda likely would not have been able to get people to commit to suicide missions.[135]

In the 1998 fatwā, al-Qaeda identified the Iraq sanctions as a reason to kill Americans, condemning the “protracted blockade”[133] among other actions that constitute a declaration of war against “Allah, his messenger, and Muslims.”[133] The fatwā declared that “the ruling to kill the Americans and their allies – civilians and military – is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it, in order to liberate the al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy mosque of Mecca from their grip, and in order for their [the Americans’] armies to move out of all the lands of Islam, defeated and unable to threaten any Muslim.”]
