We want to run an extractor fan during the day to cool off the appartment. We’re forever looking for ways to leesen our ecological footprint and want to experiment with solar power.
Anyone come across solar panels in Taiwan and can give us a contact?
Thanks
How big a panel are you looking at? The electronics marts at Guang Hwa sell smaller sized panels
Yes something smaller 12v, 10-40amps or so. We only want to run the extractor fan and possibly a battery charger. I will check out Chung hwa market. Many thanks.
Search for the words “solar” and “Taiwan” on Google.com and you will find a lot of manufacturers. Call their number, ask for the sales department and start asking questions. Most might tell you they are export only and do not sell in Taiwan, but you might be able to find something.
12V and 10-40 amps!? You have to build your own solar farm for that …
The small panels are “toys” and provide a few mA at most.
dosvog2002, should you be successfull, would you post more info here, including specs, prices & sources? Thanks! Xpet.
Sorry, 10-40 mA is what I’m after initially. Thanks Rascal
I’m hunting down a certain Canadian Expat, who lives in a beachside house (I wonder if he posts here?) I hear he almost lives off the grid relying on solar and wind generated power. Apparently he is the man to talk to in Taiwan about such things. I will let you know.
I’m just doing this out of curiousity and dont intend to live off the grid. Not whilst in this country anyway.
Thanks Hobart. I’ve had lots of success buying things directly from the manufacturer. But only if the product is for the export market.
