Someone to take photos and video of me

This is driving me insane.

Several students - design or film/media - have been promising me for months that they will help me with this stuff, but so far they haven’t managed to get their shit together and I’m tired of waiting.

I have almost no photographs of me, other than fuzzy images in bars and restaurants. I would like to have a portfolio of up-to-date images of me in different environments doing different stuff: tutoring, lecturing, relaxing, doing cool stuff, and so forth. Ideally I would also like to make a few short videos on different topics. It’s all for my website.

Does anyone out there know anyone who can help? I’m not looking for wedding-photo quality (or price) but the utter incompetence of everyone I know (including myself) when it comes to taking a decent photo or two is astounding. Or maybe I’m just the world’s least photogenic person? In any case, it seems to be impossible to get a picture of me that doesn’t make me look like a dork.

I can’t pay professional rates, but I’m not looking for perfection. Is there some affordable solution? In the real world some student looking to build a portfolio would do this for a small fee and credit. Sadly I seem to be in the world where you wait three months or else get the top of your head chopped off.

For which there’s a very good reason. Silk purse, sow’s ear. That kind of thing. I could take a few snaps if you want. I have an OK camera. Or Jojo could. She’s better at it than I am. No charge if its around our neighbourhood.

Words like ‘convenient’ don’t spring to mind. I need shots taking in a few different places, like classes and activities. Indoors, outdoors, you name it.

No nudes though. The girl that wanted those was another timewaster.
