Soul of Taipei?

Yes, by and large, save a few exceptions. ZhongHua Rd, the “big street” along Ximending with the large screen TV, gives Taipei its Time Square/Blade Runner looks.

The tree-lined RenAi Rd and TunHua S Rd were constructed by Chiang Kai-shek as the showcase boulevards of Taipei, greeting erstwhile foreign dignitaries traveling from the Taipei airport to the presidential office.

ZhongShan N. Rd was beautified so that Chiang would be spared the eyesores on his daily commutes to the presidential office.

…and there are no bridges over it so his limo couldn’'t be spat on or shot at.

Well said, have enjoyed many a long walk through the alleys of Taipei.

I work in an office during the day, and in the evenings I help my wife with her enterprise. I think it best, for several reasons, for me to be supportive of my wife’s endeavors.
