Why not? We exist, don’t we? Personally, I think Matt Stone and Trey Parker are comic geniuses. They satirise anything and everything-- mercilessly sometimes. They’re fearless defenders of free speech, IMO, as they don’t shy away from controversy, no personality or institution is too sacred to them to poke fun at, and they refuse to be silenced by extremism or taboo. They satirized islam and portrayed Muhamed, despite the risks, and even lost the long-time character “Chef” when they satirised scientology against his wishes.
I think SP’s treatment of Canada has been very gentle, polite even, when compared to the way they rip into American society, celebrities and politicians. Actually, often when they appear to be engaging in humour that “mocks Canada,” they are actually mocking the States (think “Blame Canada”). Most of the time, they just play up innocent, harmless stereotypes Americans may have about (aboot) us. I actually wish they would dig a little deeper into Canadian society and satirise us a little more seriously. We’re a country ripe for the picking in that regard; but that likely wouldn’t interest their American audiences.
Comedy is such a misunderstood genre. Don’t take SP too seriously. Laugh and enjoy.
I thought it was really funny and then they took the easy road to repulsive and just lost me.

OMFG! I didn’t know Southpark was mocking our pudding tradition! Is nothing sacred?!

As a Canadian I am not at all bothered by what goes on in South Park. But as a celebrity Mormon Scientologist who is licensed to practice gay reparative therapy I am quite offended.
