Southeast Asian Shop?

Where I can find Asian products (like items from malaysia, indonesia, thailand, philiphines) or imported products in Taiwan. Im referring for both food necessities, body wash, shampoo, etc.

Where do you live?

There are nunerous shops island wide. Especually around major train stations. Places like Index are larger chains, but lots of individual ones as well. Just imagine where se asian laborers work, there should be some. Ports, industrial parks, tech parks etc.

Yeah, where you live is important info, but they’re not hard to find in most cities.

In Taipei, there are a couple on Zhongshan North Road, like EEC Global and the one next to it. There are quite a few around the train stations in Taoyuan and Taichung too (although I’m guessing you don’t live in Taichung, or you’d probably know the Southeast Asian area already).

That area in taichung is literally the only reason i exit the freeway near taichung anymore.

Yeah, it’s pretty cool! I don’t get to Taichung so often, but when I do I make a point of going there.

Look for an Indonesian flag and you will find them

where exactly in Taichung? Can you share?

Also where we pray. In Taipei, in addition to Filipino-oriented stores near St Christopher’s Church and the old Combat Zone (Datong Area at Zhongshan N Road Sec 3) you can find Southeast Asian stores in between the Taipei Mosque and Holy Family Church on Xinsheng S Road by Daan Park - just south of Xinsheng Elementary School

There are some shops near the Taiyuan industrial park and around Zhubei train station.

Can you share the shop name or maybe the street name

Right nearby the train station. Restaraunts, shops and most importantly, FRESH se asian veggis and herbs…thats why i love it there. I dont like the are as everytime i have been there in the last years the police have become real assholes and harras the se asiam imagrants a lot. This has left a very bad taste in my mouth…! But generally, i dislike taichung and the people are certainly slightly different in that city. Im sure the police have their fair share of frustration.

There are Filipino stores there? Is it just little shops and stalls open on Sundays or a grocery store like EEC? I looked around with Google streetview and I don’t see anything.

@summer1 The place on Zhongshan mentioned above is the best in Taipei. The building that I think is called Won Won has some shops selling random stuff and fresh fruit on Sundays. Otherwise, RC or EEC grocery stores have everything. There are also a lot of neighborhood Indonesian stores scattered around in random places. Google might help. There’s a nicer one near Guting station.

I used to Google Map tag every time I saw a Southeast Asian store around Taiwan in big cities and small cities.

But there’s so many of them I just gave it up. Too easy to find them

I don’t know if there are any Filipino stores. There were definitely small Indonesia ones there. Not as big as the EEC near St Chris

Won Won has Filipino shops (Sari-sari like), barbers/salons, tailors, and makeshift eateries. I was referring to the 2x2 blocks North and East of the corner where Won Won is, where you will find bars, restaurants, shops, and money remittance services that cater to Filipinos and other Southeast Asians.

VNEXCHUBEI is one of them. But there are a few on the same street.

I’ve been to the area around Won Won many many times and will again on Sunday. You got me excited when you mentioned the area south of Holy Family. That’s much closer and it would be nice to stop by and pick up some Piattos.

Don’t get that excited - I was only referring to 2 maybe 3 shops. And to be perfectly honest, I haven’t been in the area in years. A lot may have changed (hopefully for the better)
