(specialized) electronics components stores

where can i find an electronics store that selling a LED, sensor, surveillance camera, flashing led kits, etc in chungli, hsinchu, or taichung… thanks

Just a bump up! Are there any electronics hobbyist in this forum? Are there any place you know in Taipei that sell electronics components such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, diodes, microcontroller chips such as pic, etc., etc.

I’ve been to 3C at the basement of Nova and unfortumately their inventory is very limited.

Thanks in advance!

Go to the tax office on Zhonghua Road just round the corner from Zhongxiao West Road. Proceed southward down Zhonghua Road and you will pass two or three big electronics shops. If that’s not enough, go on and take the first turning on the right. You will soon come to another electronics place on the right hand side of that street, set a little back from the road. Still not enough? Go on down the street - You will pass several shops selling audio components, transformers and the like. Go on to the next major junction. Across the street you will see a big building that has a general market on the ground floor and apartments at the top. Sandwiched between, on the 2nd floor, is a really big electronics market. You could spend the whole afternoon there browsing around. Karaoke equipment, cables, connectors, capacitors, solder-it-yourself burglar alarm kits, solar-powered flashlights, gadget that keeps the shithouse extractor fan going for a while after you switch the light off…you name it, they’ve got it.

I will edit this post when I have checked the actual names of the streets.

Xinzhu’s Guangfu Rd., the area opposite the Qing Hua University, has quite a few electronics shops selling this kind of stuff.

wow cool place, maybe if ill go to tapei ill visit there, thanks

Yeah i went to Guanfu but just in Nova, i dont look in other places. Maybe ill see the other stores there. Thanks for the info.

there are a few in the underground mall behind taipei station too.

In Guanghua area there are a few shops selling electronic components. From the southwest corner of Bade and Xinsheng South Roads walk south on Xinsheng South Road and go down to B1 level through the first door to your right. I like the one in the far back corner but there’s a few others on the same level that you might want to look at.

what do u mean underground mall?

where is Guanghua?

GuangHua is really close to ZhongXiao XienSheng(sp?) Station. Get off the MRT there and look at the map in the station, find SongJian Rd or XienSheng Bridge, follow the road south and you should see a marked point labeled “Guang Hua Bazzar”…that’s where you want to go…it’s probably the best place to buy anything computer related, or crappy censored porn VCDs, in Taiwan.

If you use Pedestrian exit #6 at Hsimen Ding MRT Station, then you walk north on the big road for about 5 minutes (stay on the left side of the street). There are about four electronic component shops there, along with some music shops too.

Zhongxiao Xinsheng station: home.trtc.com.tw/INFO92/eresult.asp?number=bl9
(includes map, click on map for more detail)

To get to the shops I mentioned, use exit number 1 of this station, and at the top of the stairs make a u-turn to walk back to the intersection, turn left onto Xinsheng North Road before crossing the intersection. After you pass the second lane, at the end of the next building are the front stairs down to B1 to the shops I mentioned. From here the best shop is in the far corner.

Or a shortcut: take exit 1, take a u-turn at the top of the stairs, then a left on the first lane. When you cross the next lane there is a walkway between the buildings continuing straight on. Go through this to the next lane, turn right and the back stairs will be on your left just a little ways down. From the back stairs the best shop is immediately on your left when entering B1 level.

The mall is in the basement, levels B1 & B2. You can find computer stuff, electronic components, test equipment, some audio stuff and CB / RF equipment there.

For electronic components I would also recommend the shops at the southwest corner of Zhonghua and Zhongxiao that have already been mentioned by Juba and twocs.

wow cool, hmmm… is there any pirated software cd in that place?

also in tapei?

Yep. Near the North Gate (Bei Men), easily reached from Ximending MRT or the Main Station (Train & MRT).
