Splitting an MPEG file

I have a large MPEG file that I want to burn onto a VCD unfortunately the file is too large(3 gigs). Is it possible to split this file into sections and burn each section onto a separate disc so that it operates like a regular 2 or 3 disc movie on VCD.

If it’s possible how would I go about doing this.

All help is greatly appreciated

Try download.com. I downloaded a free piece of software a few months ago to do just what you need.

On www.vcdhelp.com, you just type in something like “split mpeg” and you will find many ways and the tools to do this. Really not difficult.

You could turn it into a DVD. Toast 7 for the Mac can convert and burn DIVX to DVD. There must be something for Windows.

Thanks for the help, I found some programs that will do the trick.

Thanks again

Well how about you share so people can learn from this post.
