Ooooohhhhh! I like it…
DB, added load of sugar and used lemon extract instead of milk and the icing turned out purrrfect. Ofcourse I had to post a pic. 2 days of real hard work, for the cake I used this simple recipe…
[quote]2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. scalded milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
Sift flour together with baking powder and salt.
Beat 4 eggs 7-10 minutes until thick and light. Gradually add sugar to eggs, beating constantly. Fold in dry ingredients, gently and quickly.
Add vanilla, lemon, and scalded milk all at once. Blend together as quickly as possible.
Pour into an ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes.

That’s really cute! Glad the icing worked out.
Wow, no wonder it took such a long time. I admire your attention to detail and choosing bold colors. One of my aunts is a pro and she has never done anything so out of the box.
I guess the cake had a short life, too.

Oh Icon we are mourning the early loss!!
Nah I don’t think Ican compare with a pro, this is my second cake and lets put it down to the zeal of a new convert.
Very well done! You’ve inspired me to be a bit more creative on the packaging.
Oh the insides weren’t bad at all…just simple. I would appreciate if you could share some cake recipes for me. thanks
