Sports Watch with GPS and map recommendation

Do any of you own a sports/GPS watch? I am thinking of getting one for fitness and it would be nice to have a gps one that works in Taiwan geography… just in case I get lost … and can the map be updated and if so how? Which model do you recommend? Will buy them in Canada. Thank you!

Garmin are the best imho sport watches. You can add Taiwan topoactive maps via the desktop programme.

Now also Apple Watch support map navigation and backtracking.

I prefer one that can connect to Google maps and follow me in real time connected to a data plan and no subscriptions… …Which model do you recommend? Will buy them in Canada. Thank you!

I’ve been using the Xiaomi Band for a couple of years, and it works well overall. However, it’s important to note that the Xiaomi Smart Band doesn’t have built-in GPS. To track steps and accurately record activities like running, it typically relies on the GPS and tracking capabilities of your smartphone. So, if you leave your phone at home, the Smart Band may not be able to track your activity as precisely.

For recording my walks, runs, hikes, cycling, and other sports, I use the Strava and MapMyRide apps. The free versions of both apps are sufficient for tracking routes on Google Maps
