Steam Cleaner

Hello,

Where can I rent a typical steam cleaner for cleaning a carpet? Does this sort of thing even exist? If not, what else can I do to clean it? Thanks in advance.

Haven’t seen a rental, but there are lots of companies that will come to your flat and clean it for you. Your local carpet store should be able to direct you to someone offering the service. Good luck!

I vaguely remember this. Cloth-like mats on the floor, aren’t they?
What is their purpose? Are they similar to pets or stuffed animals?

Wolf, we have wall to wall carpeting in our living room. It’s not a mat, it’s a high quality carpet, fairly thick also.

Chung can you give me a name and a phone number of a carpet store in Taipei? I have never seen a local carpet store.

This thread is old. But I need to find one to rent.

Has anyone seen a rental carpet cleaner?

If not, then about how much should I expect to pay someone to come to my house to clean my carpets?

I went to the local shopping mall today. I enquired about buying a steam/carpet cleaner and they had no idea what I was talking about. They said a vacuum is what you use to clean a carpet. :unamused:

Thanks for the info.

My new puppy has craped and pissed on the carpet. I’ve been using a light bleach to clean it but I know that it needs something deeper.

Any suggestions?

Hello. I used a carpet clearner about six months ago, I had the carpet sent out, I cannot remember the name of the company that did it, but they seem to be very big and they have over five stores in Taiwan, and THEY SUCK! The carpet came back, but it didn’t look clean and they dragged it on the ground to bring it up the apartment so it had dirt on it, the idiots. So basically we ended up throwing it away because we couldn’t see spending more money on another company to clean it as we felt probably no good service exists for this sort of thing. We spent $3000. For what I have no idea. If my wife hadn’t been around I would told the guy we aren’t going to pay for it, but… you know…

I tried to contact the one Chung mentioned, but I cannot remember what happend with that, either we couldn’t reach them or they were out of business, or it was one of the branches that were part of the one above.

I would be surprised if you could rent or buy a steam cleaner here.

What I suggest is you DIY. Go buy super sucking wet/dry vac and evenly, somehome, distribute water and soap on your carpet and wash it yourself, and buy a scrub brush, don’t use too much soap as you have a pet, the job you can do will be more professional. Rinse it with water twice afterwards to make sure all the soap is out of it.

Good luck.

Hey everyone, I have a few pieces of furniture that I would like to steam clean and I was wondering if anyone knows if you can rent a steam cleaning machine or hire someone to do it for you.
