Stop other people!

Anyone know any software that can prevent people from

installing software without first checking
going online without permission
downloading software from websites…

Thanks
Kenneth

Sounds like that rats are kids. Save a bob and tell them to keep out of the office

They are.

However, it’s not practical to stop them since the office is open area!

So I need a technological solution.

Screen Saver Password is not enough.
Kenneth

Just log off whenever you leave the office.
Nobody can log back on, unless they know your username & password.

If you are using XP Pro, you can set up user options, such as which services can be used, etc.

With Linux, create a user account with the shell “rbash” (restricted bash). The user will then not even be able to change directories.

As for Windows – “security” is just a slogan.

Why not?

Why not?[/quote]You can get past the password by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and closing the screensaver

All the more reason to run Linux. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, why not boot up Knoppix or Morphix? Maybe they’ll be too clueless to reboot the machine without the CD in the drive. Another great security feature of “live CD” distributions!

That only works on Win98 OS computers and if the screen saver is not 32bit. Basically only the older computers.
