Superstition of the week--hand clapping

Shakespeare wrote Macbeth… which would suggest that the word is more based in the British language than Norse … but that’s just an educated guess

Well, many, many words in the English language have their roots in Scandinavian tongues (how about “Wednesday,” for example?)

Not to mention “smorgasbord”

That’s somewhat newer and comes from sweden only. The Danish word is different and the swedish word makes me think of a buttered geese table :wink: :wink:

Norse and norse… The swedes went to russia, the norvegians went to the faroe islands, iceland, greenland and new foundland, while the danes took care of the british isles, france etc :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:
