T1 Leased Line

We need a T1 leased line service but CHT quoted us NT$120,000 per month which sounds silly even for Taiwan. I noticed there are a few services offering the internet access part for a separate fee with the user responsible for getting their own CHT data line.

Any contacts? We need at least 1.5mbps guaranteed.

Where are you, or rather from where to where does that line go? 120k sounds excessive if you are in Taipei.
Try contacting Far Eastern and TFN (Taiwan Fixed Network), maybe they can make a better offer.

Also ask if an E1 line is cheaper, they are more common nowadays.

I found a place that offers T1 service for NT$12k plus the CHT leased data line at around $11k making a much more reasonable total. We are in Taichung City. They said that the $11k gets us a 2,048mbit line from CHT and their E1 service is $15k so we might as well go with that. Their rep is coming to meet me tomorrow, I’ll see what comes of it.

I think we’re going to go with these guys: http://portal.savecom.net.tw/km-portal/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Category=100024&Part=SaveAccess_charge. Quoted price is NT$20,000/month for E1 service w/ 99.9% SLA including the CHT line which I think is a pretty good deal. No minimum contract but there’s a 5% discount for 12 months. Installation is $20k plus the router.
