Tainan County has a new train station, called Nanke 南科火車站.
Despite the name, it’s not in the science park, and it’s only slightly closer to the park than Shanhua 善化 and Sinshih 新市 stations. It’s located where a new road linking the science park and the old provinical highway goes over the railway line.
It’s a very rudimentary edifice - I think they rush-opened it for the Lantern Festival, which is being held in the Solar City right next door.
At the moment local trains stop there, but not expresses. It’ll be interesting to see if it eventually supercedes Sinshih, which is where thousands of CMO employees detrain every day en route to the science park.
