I don’t remember what age I was when Tom Sawyer’s Island was the best part of Disneyland for me, but whenever I was that age, wow I would have loved this Drum place. It looks like a lot of fun, especially given the usual options for young people in Taiwan.
Now I suspect I’d just injure myself several times over. And get a sunburn. And maybe a headache too. Oh, and whine about the kids.
There’s also Dingtoue sandbar a bit further northml. Nearby there’s Qigu salt mountain. The second one’s definitely a tourist tra but still, the youngling might enjoy climbing a giant moutain of salt. Both might be too hot for summer time though.
By the way, I haven’t been to this one, since it is a newer attraction, but there is also 雙春濱海遊憩區-Vanaheim愛莊園 that seems like the greatest hits of mangrove fun.
You can tell your kids about Rev. Dr. Thomas Barclay, the person who brought the first print press and published the first news paper in Taiwan in 1885. He also negotiated the surrender of Tainan city to the Japanese, avoiding bloodshed and raid in 1895.
My experience with our now four-year old is that he is interested in almost everything, cause everything is new to him. While Tainan’s history sounds kind of boring, it probably is not. The Anping Canal cruise is kind of fun, also visiting the warship museum. They did have Snoopy images there recently not sure if it’s still the case. Also Yuguang Island has a good beach with cool sunsets.
