Taipei diaries

While I was in south Africa, I saw a documentary about the EFL experience in Taiwan. It’s called Taipei Diaries. I was just wondering if anybody had seen it anywhere else or had been in it? It thought it was interesting, but a little short. The weekly episodes were only 30 minutes long.

I saw it when I was back in the UK. Not sure it was just about EFL, though I think most of the people they talk to are teaching. In the episode I watched there were some lowlife Canadians making an extremely bad soft porn movie. Yeah come to Taiwan and be a porn star … Jeez

Do you got the producer’s telephone number? Always ready to make some extra bucks here ! :moon: :roflmao:

Not if you saw the ahem lady they had. Think retired barber shop brought back for one last :wanker: …

:offtopic: Damn! You can’t take these Canadians anywhere! If they don’t get caught smoking a zol :beatnik: , then they’re making porn flicks! :wanker:
(Did you see the Canadian backpacker in Deuce Bigalow, shitting in the street in Amsterdam? :moon: )

Seriously, I’d love to see the dokkie too, Rinkals! :bravo:

Long before I came to Taiwan, I was struck by the vehemence (and virulence), of MTurton’s Taiwan diary. Even now, I view it as a highwater mark in criticism of Taiwan. The sheer violence of his expressions is amazing - it’s as if he goes out of his way to make the place sound like the depths of hell.

I recommend it to anyone who wants a good read which is not only informative on so many levels, but highly entertaining. :bravo:
