The Taipei Film Festival gets underway on Sunday, March 9. The festival will feature films from Taiwan and around the world.
Perhaps someof you film buffs can answer this: A long time ago, I saw a a Taiwanese movie about 2 brothers who travel to Taiwan during the Japanese and work in a coal mine. A subplot involves a whorehouse in which the madam keeps a youth who was born by one of her former prostitutes, as well as a young Okinawa girl who initially acts as a servant. The actors spoke Taiwanese throughout the film. I missed the credits during the show, and never got the name of the film.
