Got free tickets at work
Looks like Digitimes has some coverage of the show here - digitimes.com/Backgrounders/ … VL&seq=202
It might even be worth going…
i ended up checking it out yesterday and it was pretty cool, even despite my lack of chinese.
the girls in skimpy outfits certainly weren’t lost in translation
Interesting article, but no Nintendo or Sony presence?
Only Microsoft.
And they’re offering up a pretty good deal on the TV/Xbox combo.
Looks like the others missed the boat.
Dammit!!
This totally went under my radar
I went to the show in 2003 and had a ball. The ‘booth babes’ are fantastic and they give away heaps of cool stuff…
Strange to see that only M$ have a presence this year. Back in '03 Sony were there but even then M$ had a much bigger/flashier setup.
I would catch a train up to Taipei tomorrow but I have interviews lined up for the whole day
Oh well, there is always next year I suppose…
It wasn’t that great, although, anyone that still has time and interest should go there for the Hellgate London stand alone, it’s amazingly good for this size of show. Oh, and you get to play the game and even though I read zero Chinese, it seems like it’s going to be one kick ass game when it comes out this summer, I’m so saving up for a copy…
Heres some highlights of my 2003 Game Show outing
Spot the odd one out

I thought the whole show was fucking worthless. Unless you’re into cookie-cutter Korean MMOs or yet another bastard mah-jong game, it’s just not worth the effort. Sure, the 360 stand was fun enough, and the Hellgate: London one was interesting to see (if somewhat odiferous), but otherwise yet another example of Taiwan’s failure to make the most of the wealth of possibilities and resources available to it. And another incident that makes me wonder how Taiwan ended up with 23 million people - the sheer number of leering perverts with cameras who’ve quite plainly never seen a vagina that wasn’t composed of pixels was nothing short of staggering.
It’s the ‘TAIWAN game show’, what did you expect?
Apparently the Tokyo game show is even more terrifying for the Otakus and their Cosplay fetishes
Any more info on the Hellgate: London stand? Its getting some hype on western gaming forums, but I have no idea what it’s about… First person shooter? Adventure game? Dating Sim?
It looked like… One of those Korean beat’m up games, but mixed with DOOM, or something.
OH~MY GAME!

It’s by the people that made Diablo and Diablo II.
It’s sort of an RPG/FPS game that you can play in 3rd or 1st person mode.
I had a quick go at it and I’m already saving up my hard earned cash, but I guess I’ve got a few months as it’s not out until the summer…
Thanks guys - it sounds great
