Urodacus had it right with Tai2bei3ren2
Actually that should be: Hong Kong = Hongkonger, and it is very yuck, but aptly enough it fits them like a stinking glove.
Resist the urge! Taipei residents sounds perfectly fine.

Taipeinians ?

Glad to be of service, J

Dear Sir,
I believe the term you are looking for is Honkie. Suits them to a ‘t’.
Sincerely,
Elegua
I prefer Tai-Pan, myself.
People from Taiwan are called Taiwankers, so people from Taipei could be called Taipei wankers, I suppose.
Shouldn’t that be Taipeikers?
Shouldn’t that be Taipeikers?[/quote]
Insufficiently derogatory.
Taiperians?
Taipudlians?
Taipegians?
Taipeckers?
Taipeons?
I guess Taipeites sounds alright, but looks goofy.
Taipeisians, I like. A bit of Paris, but Asian.
Taipeiren would grow the language a bit.
In Esperanto we would be Tajpejanoj. Interestingly, “Tajpejo” (Taipei) also means “place of typing,” which I suppose would be an old-style secretarial pool.
Anyway this is not an adjective but a…substantive? Is that right?
How about “Taipei resident”?

This reminds me of when I was teaching a similar conversation topic to my Japanese students.
They call Hong Kong residents > Honkies. As an African American, I couldn’t stop laughing for a good 2 mins.
