Taiwan Credit Card Late Charges: What's the max they can charge you?

Does anyone know what the maximum amount is Taiwanese credit card issuers (banks) can charge for late fees or non-payment of the minimum amount?

I’ve called Citibank Taiwan to ask them but they seem to have no idea. Funny since I’m using their card. The only response I get is “there will be a charge.”

I had some unforeseen and sizable expenses and need a month or two to recover financially without having to sell assets. I will resume paying my credit card bill as soon as I’m able.

Any relevant information or personal experience will be much appreciated.

With my card, the charge is a little over $300NT. I believe that $300 is the base fee, and then they add a bit more based on how much you owe or something. (I was late once and the fee was $393. My total charges that month were about $20,000NT, just to give you a ballpark.) Not sure what the max is, but I would guess it would be less than $500, unless you have a huge amount owed. Just as a disclaimer, my card is through a small, local bank…not a place like Citi, so it could be completely different.

I forgot to make a payment one time and they simply stopped my card. Inconvenient? You be the judge.

Thanks for the replies guys.
