Anyone know any books of modern history (20th century) of Taiwan and where to buy them. I was looking in TaiDa Eslite last night and the best they had was ‘Amongst the headhunters fo Taiwan’.
There’s very little in English. Caves has Hung Chien-chao’s History of Taiwan for NT$450. A little less than half of the book deals with the twentieth century.
On a different note: Those who think double-spacing after periods is always the way to go should look at this book. Ugly, ugly, ugly.
