Founded in 2014, TIQFF is hosted in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung from October to November coinciding with Taipei Pride Rally. Post-festival, the TIQFF team hosts roadshow mini-fests in rural areas. This year, the roadshow was expanded to include Kinmen Matsu, and Penghu.
The festival is hosted by NPO/NGO that relies on donations, sponsorship and government grants. The roadshows to rural areas with no screening facilities were crowdfunded.
