taiwan- the new barbary coast!

For serious entries, I suggest Touch Taiwan, for literary accomplishment, I nominate the Accidental Colony, but the I don’t see why they want to do this when they already have Naruwan and Touch Your Heart (my personal favorite, because I am the voice in the ads)

Naruwan’s a good one. (Not!)

Foreigner arriving in Tawian seeing all the ‘Naruwan’ signs: “What does Naruwan mean”

Taiwanese friend “What does what mean?”

Foreigner “Naruwan”

Taiwanese “huh?, Never heard of it” :s

Brian

You mean, it has to be one word?

Well, all right. How about…

ADOGAH means “I love you, you well-hung foreigner”!

“Totally Taiwan!” or maybe “Torentially Taiwan” …

Taiwan - Don’t bother

Anyone who’s been here for more than 10 minutes knows what the Taiwanese people’s real motto is:

“Meh guanxi.”

So Taiwan’s catchword should be:

"Taiwan - Mei Guanxi.

Taiwan - Chabuduo.

Taiwan - Bu hao yisi, meiyou banfa."

Timebomb Taiwan.

ooh! that’s nice! “chabuduo!” warms the cockels of me heart.

back when i still resided on taiwan’s verdent shore i remember well rising in the morn and the hearing the firsts words of the day from young scholars passing on their way to school: “bai chir!”. everyday. repeatedly. simply: “bai chir!” they would greet and encourage each other with this warm and kind verbal embrace. forever, for me, taiwan is the land of bai chir.

“wonderful taiwan”

Amazing how many people still post phrases instead of a single word.
These must be the people for whom companies print instructions on their products regarding their proper use, like toothpaste and soup.

Taiwan Tornado!
