Today I looked for a product in a pet store and just was shocked about the price … 400 NT$, the same product online from the US … 3.98 US$ … 
Yeah, they really are overpriced in my experience too. If anyone knows of a bargain-priced pet store, please do let us know! Oh, and does anyone know where I can get a rabbit skin real cheap in Taipei? I used to buy them for a buck each in the US. They’re really good for making your own cat toys to save money, but I don’t want to have to kill my own rabbit. 
I have ordered stuff from the US when I cannot find it here -like Feliway, which is rare.
The cheapest places so far are the ones in Keelung road, at the entrance of Tonghua Night Market, and the big place in Gonkuan on Wenzhou Street -but it only takes cash.
If anyone knowns anywhere even chaper, please share.

Ok, but you’ll have to catch one first. By ‘my own rabbit’ I didn’t mean I actually own one. 
Maybe we could get together for rabbit stew, while we’re at it. Just don’t tell Dragonbabe what’s in it.
Back on topic, I’ve found that things are often much cheaper if ordered online locally (brick and mortar stores are expensive to run here, but online stores are cheap, and postage and courier fees are very low; I often have stuff delivered COD to 7-11, and the charge is ridiculously low). I wouldn’t be surprised if this includes pet supplies too. I’ll try to get d’babe to dig up a link for us.
On the other hand, vets are definitely cheaper than abroad and pet drugs too, well most of the drugs, common drugs …
OH man vet fees are outrageous. Many people cant afford a pet anymore in the USA.
I dont know if they are still there, but there used to be one or two hole in the wall cat stores on LinShen N.Rd. near Nanking E.Rd. that sold stuff fairly cheap. Theres a few around that are reasonable, you have to hunt them down.

I have seen them in the Lungshan Temple Market (Snake Alley) in one of those huge variety stores-- the one with the wall of cheap stuff outside. The cheap rabbit (I am pretty sure it’s rabbit) fur is inside, beside the stairs.
