Taiwan Politicians: Porn/"I knocked my own teeth out&qu

What’s going on with Taiwan political scandals? First this thing with Sissy Chen’s low-class critic seriously injuring himself, and now this VCD of a female politician screwing some dude, apparently with a hidden camera. I have a couple questions:

 1. What’s the deal with the guy who went off on Sissy, DPP legislator Lin Chung-mo? I know the official version of what happened to him afterward. Is this what really happened, or was he beat up, or did he do it to himself to gain sympathy?

 2. The supposed video of the politician: Is it really her, or just a grainy video taken from some love hotel of someone else? And if it was taken in her own bedroom, as I have read, who would/could’ve installed the camera? What are the conspiracy theories that are being tossed about?

 3. Has Taiwan politics sunk to a new low? It used to be just fake fistfights in the lufa yuan, plus real fights/beatings/“warnings” in local politicians’ home districts. Why all the personal dirt appearing in the media now?

Just Curious!

Well, why is it leveled at female politicians when MALE politicians are known for, and even lauded for, their philandering?? Recalling the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal, the Taiwanese shrugged it off as ‘boys will be boys’…

The Taipei Times reports:

quote:
Shen Jung, chairwoman of Scoop Weekly magazine, said the video was newsworthy and the public had the right to know its contents.

“The VCD is not pornographic but evidence to back up our report,” Shen said. “We are sure the woman in the video is Chu and the male is her boyfriend, who is a married man. A politician’s life should be examined.”

It would seem that those who were involved in the funding, distribution and production of this video have committed a serious breach of privacy and should be prosecuted.

But the Times meekly says:

quote
The Taipei District Prosecutors' Office is looking into whether the filming of the video involved criminal acts.
Scandal has long been the rage in Taiwan, but this sort of ‘smut journalism’ is replacing other forms as fast as they can keep the presses rolling. If you’re in Taiwan’s public eye, BEWARE, even your own bedroom isn’t safe!

What I want to know is WHY haven’t talk shows ala Ricki Lake and Jerry Springer caught on here yet? Taiwan is after all, becoming a hotbed for this sort of ‘crap’. Perhaps the programme analysts should reexamine the market and we can all have fun. I’d also like to know why Lien Chang’s alleged (everyone knows) wife-beating hasn’t received the coverage it deserves. Maybe because ‘boys will be boys’…

and if this post is edited due to that disclosure, then…shrug…there you have it.

<<The supposed video of the politician: Is it really her, or just a grainy video taken from some love hotel of someone else? And if it was taken in her own bedroom, as I have read, who would/could’ve installed the camera? What are the conspiracy theories that are being tossed about?>>

According to some reports, the video was taken in Chu’s Tamsui apartment. One theory is the wife of the man in the video hire private detectives to gather evidence of her husband’s infidelity.

But what I’m curious about is why the video is being released just now. The time stamp on the video says Aug. 14. If Chu has enemies, wouldn’t it make more sense to release the video prior to Dec. 1? But now Chu has lost her bid for a legislative post, perhaps she has orchestrated the release of the video to stay in the public eye.

Also, a lot of people have been going on about invasion of privacy. Neither person in the video has come forward to say their privacy was violated. Chu herself hasn’t said whether it is her in the video.

She lives in the same building as me, and I’ve been waiting to see her again since now that I know all that hot stuff she likes.

But noooooooo…

All I get are the damn reporters camping outside.

I’m pretty sure I can do a better job than that dude.

Lucky bastard. That woman is hot.

OK, I’ve heard more and more about it and now I want to know - where can I get the VCD. My girlfriend saw a three minute internet version and said it’s really hot. Apparently Chu is amazing and the guy has great technique. The full version has them at it, super-clear quality, sound and all for 40 minutes going through a vast variety of styles. I really have to see it (for academic purposes of course).

OK I adnit I’m just making it worse wanting to watch, but I really do pity the poor woman. Unlike some fundy who send a letter to the Times the other day I really don’t think she’s done anything wrong. It was the guy who was cheating on his wife, and it was private and now half of Taiwan has seen her. I’ve heard Taiwanese friends saying people have brought the video in to work and shown the whole company.

Bri

That’s true. Someone in my company brought the VCD in and played it in her cubicle (on her computer) on loop for a whole day (I don’t know how SHE did her work that day…). As far as I know, the boss knew and he had no objection.

Someone emailed me some stills of the VCD, as well as a couple of short real player video segments. I confess I had a look.

Funny, but in the stills, it looks like her partner is smiling and posing for the camera. It also appears as if he placed her quite strategically in certain positions, facing the camera. She, however, looks completely unaware.
Makes you wonder, since the video was made last summer, if he recorded it without her knowing, and then released it to the media, realising he could make a few bucks. His wife would always take him back, they’re Taiwanese afterall.

However, she, nor he, are particularly ‘hot’, so I’m not sure what the big deal is from other posters. Actually, he’s more fit than she is, as she’s carrying a relatively high BMI. Chu looks a bit flabby around the middle, or maybe that’s the camera…

But, I saw no evidence of safe sex practice in the segments I’ve seen. Shouldn’t that be a concern?

I’ve seen it too, and it’s made me wonder about the quality of sexual relations in Taiwan! All the Taiwanese are saying how “lewd” and wild the video is, but after watching the VCD, all I could do was shake my head in bewilderment. Is THAT what qualifies as wild around here?

Also, I’m pissed off that Chu is getting all this crap for having sex with a married man, but no one’s paying any attention to the man side of it. He is, after all, the one with the spouse, right? Also, no one seems to feel any sympathy for Chu. The fact that a pornographic video of her was released without her consent is just fine with the public. And then she goes and makes it worse by bowing and making a public apology…as if there’s something insidiously evil about a grown woman having sex with someone! Ugh…

The Taiwan public eats up anything to do with gossip or fads, and just as quickly forgets all about it.

Six months down the road, noone will even remember this video. Just like noone seems to remember the famous Taiwanese TV host, Hu Gua, and the rape charges pressed against him some years back…

Just another egg tart frenzy.

I agree, their sexual foreplay not only wasn’t the what I’d call wild, but rather insipid and sickly with all her cutesy giggling and cooing.
PUKE!

I still feel sorry for her though, although I’d never even heard of her before all this to-do.

I saw the video as well. It’s definitely not pornographic. Pornograhphy turns you on. This didn’t get me interested at all.

But what truly amazes me is the reaction of Taiwanese women to this video. They think the married man is a Lathario, saying he has great technique, put Chu in six different positions, etc. etc. etc.

It seems Taiwanese don’t know how to have sex, which is why they have it so seldom (at least that’s what Durex says). An enterprising person would be inporting those how-to sex videos you see advertised in high-brow publications like the New Yorker and The Atlantic Monthly.

Oh, I dunno, Curious. I thought the way he had his wee willie poking out of those stylish boxers was straight out of one of those San Fernando valley shoots.

She’s hot, the guy- abit lame.

Notice how she giggles? What’s up with that? The guy is trying (his best? ), and she’s off laughing

I got the VCD and am planning to put it up on the net, the full monty in all its glory!, in a day or two so stay tuned.

Wonder if el moderator will let me put a link to it in here.

I found the video of their afternoon tryst to be a rather refreshing depiction of sexual relations. Even in regular movies (versus porn) sex is often portrayed as some kind of magical and world-altering act, as opposed to simply an enjoyable act shared by two people. I do feel bad watching it if it truly was taped and released without their knowledge.

I can see why women think the man is a good lover. First of all, look at the time spent on foreplay and on making love itself. I’ll bet some women haven’t experienced an entire sex act lasting more than 10 minutes! You hear of too many men just want to “get down to business.”

Not that I think teens should see stuff like this but I’d rather have curious, impressionable teenagers see this video (with mutual consent and pleasure) as opposed to the usual porn crap (endless thrusting sessions punctuated by a monotonous “eh, eh, eh”) for their sex ed.

I am suspicious however, at how smooth the whole thing went. It seems that most average folks would bump heads or do something equally awkward at some point. Whether or not the guy knew about the filming, he certainly knew what he was doing and is not new at “entertaining” a woman.

By the way, in the long video, it looks like he does put on a condom.

In last night’s Taipei Times there was a good letter which was the best thing I’ve read about this incident and expressed exactly what I feel about it, but probably better than I could. My thanks to the author John Diedrichs. The letter after it was an apalling piece of sh1te. Have a look:

But I’m a hypocritical voyeur underneath my concern and I still want to see it, so I finally managed to get the VCD today. Now I just have to get around theproblem that I have no computer, VCD player or TV to watch it on

Maybe the reason the sex ‘a little too smooth’ was the fact that apparently the two of them are both very experienced. I find the suggestion that she was in on it absolutely appalling.

Jeepers, you’d better be careful if you plan on uploading the thing. Keep your anonymity. Apparently the police have already charged quite a lot fo people for copying and distributing the VCD.

Bri

I’m interested in why it is you find the allegation that Chu was in on this sorry affair to be appalling.

As a Taiwan politician, I’d imagine integrity would be very low indeed in her personal value system.

I agree, though, that she owes no-one an apology, unless its for subjecting viewers to the sight of her lover’s underwear.

Anyway, does no-one else find it a little odd, to say the least, as to how her ex-boyfriend – the mayor of Hsinchu – could afford to give Chu NT$40 million (NT$10 million cash, NT$20 million in “gifts” and NT$8 million for a house). How much do mayors of minor cities earn, anyhow?

With a thing like this, (half?)famous people having sex on video, would make news in any country, and people everywhere would try to get their hands on the video just to see what all the fuss was all about. (Except if you had something like Ashcroft and Janet Reno in it, yuk!)

What’s pretty funny is that it’s such a big deal. They had sex, got taped, and we watched. So what?

I bet the guy is all smug and happy about this actually, with everyone calling him ‘stud city’.

And the chick should be happy too, getting to show off some of her stuff.

I’m going to try this, see if it makes me famous too

I got the 490MB file down to 8.5MB!
Used WM8 for that. Now to find a home for it

As long as it’s not hosted in Taiwan, they’ll have to come up with some other reason to deport me.

Well folks, remember that in the west we’ve had about 40 years of the sexual revolution. A revolution which was preceded by several more decades of quality promotion from the avant garde. (It is really quite quaint now to read powerhouse thinkers like Bertrand Russell write how he believed male and female college students should share rooms so that they could have sex often enough to take the edge off, so to speak, so that their liidoes wouldn’t interfere with their serious studies.)

In any case, how long has sexual openess been a common feature in the lives of most people here? Never it would seem from the reaction to the video. Grown women are astonished at witnessing oral sex. Young woman are amazed to see that sex can last for more than 3 minutes.

I must admit that the popularity of the vcd in taiwan had disturbed me greatly. This is a country I may well end up raising my children in. Did I really want them brought up in an place where entire families, from junior up to grannie will watch, without shame, the private acts of a young couple? I have heard of sons telling their mothers to watch it. Of parents giving the vcd to their children. One student of mine is only in grade 6 and he has seen the video. With his parents permission no less.

Oh how deformed had the Taiwanese spirit become, I thought. Where was the moral guidance of the older generation? On a talk show tonight, a female legislature admitted openly to letting her high school aged children watch the vcd. She even told her son to learn from the video how to please a woman, and her daughter a man. Later a caller suggested that the video be shown to all high school students.

And then it came to me slowly why the country had suddenly lost all powers of discretion. This video is the great sexual awakening for Taiwan. Like all powerful awakenings the people experiencing it have lost the ability to make sound judgements. Like a traveller smitten with all things Asian, or Italian, or whatever, they cannot see when it is appropriate to apply their new found understanding, and when it is not.

I think posters are wrong to suggest that this scandal will pass and be forgotten. How many women in Taiwan have this last week been secretly, or not, sizing up the men in their lives. How many are demanding a little more foreplay? How many are perhaps experimenting with their first taste of oral sex? How many suddenly understand their hitherto inchoate feelings of dis-satisfaction? The people have been enlightened. Chu Mei Feng has become the Dr. Ruth of Taiwan. Who needs to read the Joy of Sex when you can see it live on vcd?

quote
I'm interested in why it is you find the allegation that Chu was in on this sorry affair to be appalling.
Because she is the victim here. She’s been seen having sex by every granny in the country, and probably msot of the country thinks she’s a whore. Can’t see what she could gain by that Why on earth would she possibly have done it deliberatley. It’s like saying ‘I bet you got aids on purpose’

Bri

Hey Bri, please don’t put words into my mouth!

All I’m saying is that where Taiwan politicos are involved, very little is as it seems. I have no idea, of course, why Chu would engineer such a thing. As you say, it wouldn’t seem to offer her any possible advantage. Or would it?

Is it not beyond the realm of possibility that she’s trying to smear ex-boyfriend/philanthropist Mayor Tsai by tying him to the illegal bugging of her home, office, phones, etc.? After all, she’s bound to be pretty pissed that he’s demanding the return of the house and the money he gave her when he was poking her.

Maybe I’m just being over-cynical, but while I’ve never been given any reason whatsoever to trust politicians here, I’m assailed time and again by evidence and plain proof of their underhandedness, double-dealing and total amorality. From what I’ve read of Chu in the past, she’s no angel when it comes to devious shenanigans.
