Taiwan Politics needs another moderator

Cranky Laowai and Feiren are both great moderators, but they don’t have the time to deal with the volume of thread-jacking, troll-posts and stupidity that surfaces in TP. Is there anyone with the time, patience and even-handedness that would like to give it a go? If you’d like to join the Forumosa Moderating Team, drop me a PM.

However, when moderators participate in discussions that are unrelated to their official duties, they are expected to do so in a manner that respects differing points of view, and promotes community-building rather than division. Even when they are not performing their official moderator duties, moderators are required to hold themselves to a higher standard than other members of this discussion board. With this in mind, moderators are expected to observe the following guidelines:[ul][li]They are expected to behave themselves at all times in a way that reflects positively on Forumosa.com, and complies with all the Rules and Regulations of this website. [li]They are expected to share and help promote Forumosa.com’s mission of community-building and service to the community. [/li]
[li]They may not engage in personal attacks against other members of this board. [/li]
[li]It is not appropriate for moderators to threaten to ban someone with whom they do not agree. [/li]
[li]They are expected to be fair and evenhanded at all times, especially to those with whom they disagree. [/li]
[li]They are forbidden from discussing moderator business anywhere except in the moderators-only discussion forum. If it becomes apparent that a moderator has broken this rule, he/she will be relieved of moderator duties immediately, and may be banned from the discussion board as well.[/li][/ul]If you feel a moderator has acted inappropriately, please contact a site administrator (Maoman or Goose Egg). The site administrators will decide what response is appropriate, if any.

Moderators have access to a private moderators-only discussion forum, where they discuss issues relevant to this discussion board.

Not that I have any problems at all with the current mods :bravo: , I recommend either Jive Turkey or Omni. I think they would be fair TP mods.

I would like to submit, completely without his knowledge and with no previous discussion of this matter,
the right honorable Comrade Stalin.
His knowledge of the politics and history of Taiwan is without equal.
His impartiality and even-handedness in decision making is Solomon-like.
And he is absent just enough to not cause a lot of trouble.

I hope they keep it “status quo” :wink: :laughing: I’ve found that TP has been quite a good read for the most part. Got some quacks in there but all in all, quite lively :laughing:
