Taiwan Review article on rights in new criminal code

There is an article in the August edition of Taiwan Review that talks about Taiwan’s new criminal code and its impact on civil liberties. The article is entitled “Walking the Fine Line in Taiwan New Criminal Code” and it might be of some interest to folks interested in human rights in Taiwan.

Even though Taiwan Review is a government magazine the last few editors (i.e. John Trenhaile, Don Shipiro and Robert Green) have done an outstanding job of turning the magazine from government trash/nonsense into a balanced magazine. As a result the article is what I really think, I did not have to “edit” my thoughts to be “rah, rah, Taiwan”.

Take care,
And dont believe the hype (wise words from the old rap group Public Enemy)

Hello? You can add Kris Kowal, Lloyd Roberts and Sheila Wong to that.

Thanks Brian, I look forward to reading it. I guess the August issue isn’t online yet, but when it is it will be here:
