Taiwan = Switzerland

Do the Taiwan Government base their policies towards overseas workers and overseas spouses on those in Switzerland?

Or maybe this should be on the HR forum? I will let the mod decide :slight_smile:

I think Taiwan’s immigration laws are more like those of Japan, Germany and the People’s Republic of China.

Until relatively recently Switzerland (like Taiwan) was not a member of the UN … of course, from the Swiss point of view that was a matter of choice.

Interestingly, Switzerland has positioned itself so that even if not many get to stay permanently or get citizenship, they make it super easy for people to visit. In addition, WTO, WIPO, and all sorts of other international organizations have their headquarters there. Is there a single international organization of any size that would ever put a headquarters into Taiwan? Any multinational that would want to put its regional HQ here?
