Taiwanese Nazis

One of our mods here bragged about demonstrating in front of AIT and singing The Internationale. If he were a Nazi instead, do you think he’d be a mod?
Good question. The student in question didn’t get tossed from the university for keeping his notebook, but my recollection is that he moved along to another school where he wasn’t known as “the creepy nazi wannabe”. No idea where he ended up or how his life turned out. He could even be a mod somewhere today.

Thanks, I thought so. I informed some people there and it seems that at least somebody deleted the link already.

I know someone in the UK who likes wearing Nazi swastika’s also. His daddy spanked him, aside the tabloids.

These 20 loosers here should get spanked also. “greater nationalism?” Yeah… my balls.

There’s a wealth of information on Nazi life from World War II Finnish Army vet “Tom of Finland” at: http://www.tomoffinlandfoundation.org/foundation/touko.html

:nsfw:

Perhaps “Taiwan nazi” love of cosplay is now a bit more understandable. If the Taichung gathering leads to an orgy, you got the head’s up here first.

The issue about the Taiwanese Nazi group was reported extensively on TVBS News last night. They had comments from a spokesman for the Jewish community in Taiwan, and they also mentioned about how Hitler and Nazi images have been used liberally in political propaganda and advertising in Taiwan (see other threads on Forumosa).

Click here for reports on the TVBS news web site (in Chinese, of course).
These dorkus erectus are meeting in Taichung on Mar 17. Anyone know where? I’d like to go, harass them with tough questions, take a few pics, etc.

Taichung train station. Don’t know what time. Press release from MOFA: “The Ministry hopes that preserving freedom of speech will not come at the expense of tarnishing our nation’s image as a guardian of freedom and human rights. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that this does not happen. Clearly, advocating Hitler and Nazism is wrong and harmful for Taiwan’s international image.”

From a design standpoint, the red, black, and white color scheme along with the Nazi swastika, is one of the most attracting icons or logos in my opinion. The problem is the organization that used them. They were deliberatly trying to look cool and scarey, look at the SS skull for example, its like they KNEW they were the evil bad guys.

I was also thinking that the use of that icon by non-racists might be thought of as similar to black americans using the ‘n’ word themselves to change its meaning.

Just wondering how long the swastika will be thought of as totally evil. We all know its been around a long time before (in other forms) even as the boarder of the Washington Post pre-WWII.

Looks like they chickened out – apparently they cancelled their Nazi rally in Taichung.

“Fans of World War II militarism”? Noting that all the main militaristic countries got their asses handed to them in World War II, I’m not so sure there’s any cause for fandom. If these guys like burned out piles of rubble, then perhaps Nazis would be a great choice. For those who enjoy living in a burned-out atomic wasteland, then worshipping the Tojo government in Japan might make sense.

Headline of the above article:

Seeing as most of the members of the group are in high school or junior high, I’m guessing the rally was called off because most of the members’ mommies and daddies didn’t want them to skip their regular weekend cram school classes to go play around at the train station.

The swastika is not necessary known as evil in the countries where it has another history. However, the swastika as used in western countries (e.g., spraypainted on synagogues, worn by neo-nazis, presented in black on a white circle on a red flag) does often mean that perception matches the intent. Perhaps someday one of the “Tomb Raider” movies will feature an enormous CGI sword-wielding Buddha statue with a huge swastika on its chest, but otherwise most of the time the eastern use of the swastika is going to be peaceful and the western use will be tied to hate.

As to the claims of locals that we’ve “misunderstood” the swastikas we see here, I think that we’re pretty good at picking out Third Reich kitsch when we see it at night markets, on scooters or on people’s clothing.

from the Taipei Times:

“It was a misunderstanding. We hope people will not think too much about it,” the statment said.

Well, that’s exactly the point. If you say something, you have to think about it first. You have to think about how people will react to what you say. I think these “young” people need to think more! They need to start thinking too much and go from there. For example, how could a “national socialism association” not be related to the ideas of the Nazi party, which means “national socialism assocation”. Please think.

Not too much of a misunderstanding. Their forum site had previously welcomed people with a “Do not come in if you dislike Hitler” but then used an English “Neo-Nazis, Fascists, Skinheads and Anti-Semites are definitely not welcome here.” before shutting down temporarily ostensibly because of “hacker” attacks.

Statements made by the group’s leaders indicates that they knew what they were up to. You can’t call for the extermination of the mixed-raced children of foreign workers in Taiwan and pretend that you’re just “interested in history” or “think Nazi Germany had a good economic program.”

Check out their main site at http://www.twnazi.org/index_00.htm to see more of their creepy nazi bootlicking behavior. Nazi music plays in the background, there are links to the Stormfront website, and the adoring bio and photos helps give an idea that this is not merely for purposes of “research”. All they need to do is find a good tie in with conservative radio host Hal Turner and they’ll have made it complete.

Here’s a quote from their website’s section on the “Final Solution”:

These guys will probably sit about in their little Nazi uniforms heiling each other in private for a few weeks of solitude until people forget about them. But I don’t buy for a second that this is a “misunderstanding”.

Apparently the taiwanese nazis did meet, but just not so publicly. William Fang wrote a special editorial for the China Post that seems to supports the group.
A forum on the Internet sponsored by the NSA, an organization composed largely of young intellectuals, has incurred international protests, particularly from Israel, due to its effort to spread Nazism.

However, the membership of the forum has expanded quickly, its number doubling within one week.

So far, more than 15,000 articles, many of them written by highly educated intellectuals with convincing arguments, have appeared on the website.
He finds these fuckos “convincing” and considers them “intellectuals”. Screw that.
