I think Hou is a decent domestic leader but he isn’t international at all and can’t be a statesman. Taiwan has a very difficult international situation and has to balance a difficult relationship with Washington, partner countries and hopefully some kind of dialogue with Beijing. Hou clearly isn’t up to this But to be honest, neither is Lai really and also Ko possibly ---

Prior to the leak, the New Taipei City government tried to stall the release of the transcripts. After the leak it started cracking down on employees who leaked the info, despite the Executive Yuan demanded the transcripts be released. The parents seem unable to forgive the response from Hou’s city government. Hou was also the one who ordered to storm the magazine office of freedom fighter, and Taiwan independence advocate Cheng Nan-jung, forcing him to choose self-immolation as the final mean to evade capture. When asked why he ordered to storm the office instead of trying to negotiate for Cheng’s surrender, Hou simply replied that he was following orders, and he would have done so again today. The issue here is of course that Cheng was practicing rights that should have been protected by the ROC government’s own constitution. So insisting he did nothing wrong by following orders, he violated the constitution to suppress the freedom of speech, which Hou is perfectly fine with even today. ---

Hou’s policies had me sitting in crowded buses. The lead time for my bus to get home was 90 minutes. Because the lead time was so long, I had to wait an extra 90 minutes because the first one was full. Fuck Hou You Yi. ---

When Zhong saw Zhu criticizing others for sexual harassment on TV, she felt like she has to expose him. ---

Obviously sexual harassment isnt funny, but funny he is caught up in this scandal. Considering he is one of the number one anti-DPP big mouth internet celebrities, funny if he gets brought down by this. He is obviously a bit of a dickhead, but he isnt a politician. I searched and Ko commented on the situation of polling weaker with females. So it is definitely a phenomenon [白：柯文哲搶女性票 還可強化 | 2024大選前哨站 | 要聞 | 聯合新聞網](https://udn.com/news/story/123307/7211153) This data is from ET Today which im gathering is one the more reliable of the polls from blue media. Taiwan polling is weird. You can just disregard any polls from the deep green or deep blue media as they probably have decided the results before they started(Blue or Green candidate always winning by a lot). I don’t really get the point and why someone wants to see something that they must know is false, but confirms the reality they wish was true. I don’t really get this type of Taiwan political theatre ---

Been watching some shows and Hou is not connecting with KMT traditional base, which is an issue. He doesnt really have any strong relationships with the KMT famous players and he isnt connecting enough with the deep blues ---

Huge outrage happening about the drugging of kindergarten kids in Banqiao. A long delay in the government’s response, followed by a ludicrously low fine for this outrageous behavior. . . This is all in Hou You-yi’s domain: gangsters shooting storefronts in the open, kindergartens drugging kids . . . so much for the law-and-order persona he projects. No discerable vision or policy direction, and evidently no law-and-order either. Can someone remind me again about what he is bringing to the table as a candidate? Guy ---

Talking about sexism and the DPP, haven’t its financing sugar daddies (albeit some now dead) always been quite sexist? _Referring to Tsai, Koo questioned whether the DPP should be led by an unmarried woman, and later complained that a person “in a skirt” was unfit to serve as commander-in-chief_.
