I’ve investigated my favorite commute system in Taipei: Youbike! I was doing this for myself but then decided to share it in an essay. Wanted to share here some interesting number for the curious. Did you know that :

- There are 3 million monthly Youbike rides
- a Youbike costs 9200 NTD to buy?
- The longest cycling path is 968km long
- Youbike’s station were located from 200m to 600m to each others?
- There was 1 or 2 persons responsible for an area to “rebalance” stations

The [full investigation is here](https://erickhun.com/posts/taiwan-youbike-bike-sharing/) , I hope you enjoy it!

I always wondered how many people there were and how they knew which to move and such. Thanks for sharing!

I think it deserves more investigation. I’ll try to talk to one when I’ll see one!
