The Taliban is losing the war and Omar has fell out with his old ally and financier bin Laden who cannot fund the resistance any longer.
In order to deal with the USA in talks a demand could have been that they give up bin Laden’s whereabouts.
Then an extensive cover story is fabricated as the Taliban cannot be associated with the mission in any way.
A mysterious courier is invented . Who is also killed along with bin Laden therefore leaving no witnesses.
bin Laden is killed in his bed in a concrete compound along with a few witnesses. Not a million dollar mansion.
Good riddance to him.
