Tax haven in Asia

I went through the topics here and could not find what I am interested in (maybe there was such a thread some long time ago). My friend from the European Union wants to establish a company and reduce the taxes he has to pay. I have heard from a Taiwanese accountant that a company pays 25%, but that seems very high. At the same time he told he found some information that some companies in Taiwan may only pay 1%.

  1. How is it? Is Taiwan attractive as a tax haven? Maybe under some conditions?
  2. If not Taiwan - what other place in Asia would you suggest?

Thank you in advance.

Taiwan isn’t considered a tax haven. Taiwanese businesses are not allowed to invest in China directly, so many are registered in Hong Kong, which according to Wikipedia’s article on tax havens, Hong Kong’s tax rates are so low that it can be considered a tax haven. The British Virgin Islands is the world’s most popular destination for businesses, and they have avoided many of the scandals that have plagued tax havens. And from what I’ve seen on TV, everyone’s rushing to Dubai for tax free business.

you are the man, thank you a lot!!!
